AT the glitzy Safety in Beauty Diamond Awards ceremony, held in The Grand Ballroom at The Montcalm Hotel in London, BABTAC (British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology) was announced the 2018 winner of The ‘Training, Education and Professional Development Award for Professional Beauty’. The Award is in recognition of a business that demonstrates commitment, excellence, passion and dedication to advancing the industry.
BABTAC’s win recognises and celebrates the plethora of campaigns that it has undertaken and continued to progress in the last five years. Campaigning for mandatory self-regulation, advising on and upholding improved industry standards, encouraging development of appropriate and forward-thinking qualifications as well as acting and advising on specific issues ranging from teeth whitening to human trafficking and non-surgical cosmetic interventions, all contributed to the win. All projects are delivered with an aim to drive up standards and to protect both therapists and the consumer.
“We are delighted to have won this Award and it’s an absolute honour,” said BABTAC Chair, Lesley Blair. “BABTAC is a not-for-profit professional association, operating for our members and the good of the industry, and it is one of our core remits to uphold and improve standards across the sector”.
